Lots of pictures because we have been having tons of fun this month. Easter was great and both the boys got very good at opening plastic eggs by the time we were through. J.P. loved blowing the yolk out of the eggs to dye them. Seems like a boy thing to watch gross liquid pop out of an egg and make a farting noise. His father is living vicariously through them and bought "The Karate Kid" for one of their gifts. That's an oldie. J.P. now likes "Days of Thunder" too because of the racing. Our weather has been great all month, mostly 60s and some 70s. We even had our first bonfire of the year on April Fools Day.

Carson starting crawling out of his crib so we have now transitioned him to the toddler bed. He is doing well but sometimes we find him hovering over the nightlight trying to play or read in the dark room. He is now saying "watch this" all the time to try to get us to pay attention to him. I think I know where he learned that from. J.P. was excited to get a new bike this Spring. Nick and I celebrated our 5th anniversary at Toys R Us picking it out. But we did get a chance to go out on that Saturday night to a black-tie gala honoring Children's Hospital. Chris and Natalie hosted me and my siblings for a fancy party downtown Minneapolis. It was fun to get dressed up and have a real conversation with my family. There is always so many kids running wild when we have family gatherings that I never get to finish a sentence with anyone.

Last week, Nick and I jetted off to Charleston, SC for his annual work trip. Although he only has a few meetings (I go to the spa!), we still have plenty of free time to enjoy the attractions. Charleston is beautiful and full of history. We visited a WWII aircraft carrier and it was amazing. I don't know how our armed forces spend months on those things though. We saw the Boone Hall Plantation where many movies were filmed, including North & South, Forrest Gump, The Notebook, and Roots. It was quite an experience to see the slave quarters and walk in their same footprints. Lots of the buildings we saw were hundreds of years old. Southern food is awesome and I think I gained 5 pounds on that trip.

J.P. finished Sunday School for the year and attempted to sing at church today (video link below). He seems to like putting his hands in his mouth when he's anxious. Good thing Cousin Will was there to lead the way with his good singing. We celebrated by taking the boys to Chuck-E-Cheese afterwards. Looks like Nick's Grandma Ginny is doing well after her cancer-removal surgery and has a good outlook for the future. Please continue to pray for her to be cancer-free.
