Although he was almost 5 weeks early, Oliver Charles Peterson arrived last week in a big hurry. He was born weighing 5 lbs. 8 oz. and 18 inches long. He had some typical newborn issues like breathing, keeping temperature up, jaundice, blood sugar levels. But after 6 days in the hospital his jaundice is finally starting to improve and he is home in MN. Well not really home because Brigette's new house is not finished until 10/27. That was supposed to be before he arrived in this world. So now he is going to spend the first 3 weeks of his life in Waseca at Grandpa and Grandma's houses. But the good news is that he is eating well and seems to be thriving. The Peterson's are moving into our housing development so J.P. is eagerly anticipating their arrival. George came to stay with us for a few days on Sunday and the boys played so hard and had a great time. J.P. loves having friends sleep over.

J.P. had his first school field trip to the apple orchard. Daddy went along and they enjoyed a hayride, walk in the pumpkin patch, picking apples, and feeding the cores to the horses. He also rode on the elusive yellow school bus he watches drive through our neighborhood. My nose surgery fiascal is almost over. The nose part was not as painful as I thought and it felt great to get the plastic stints out of my nostrils, but the tummy troubles and allergic reactions from the drugs I was on sucked. Now I am on steriods, Zantac, and Benadryl to heal the itching and hives I discovered Sunday morning.
