Yesterday was my 30th birthday and I am happy to say I survived. With two little kids at home there isn't a lot of opportunity to mix it up, especially when it's a Thursday. But after a trip to the mall with the kids I was greeted with beautiful flowers and a huge bouquet of balloons. Much to J.P.'s delight the balloons had Sesame and Disney characters, as well as trains, planes, and trucks. Watch the video below and you'll see that he thought it was his birthday. We dined out at Applebee's to celebrate and followed that up with a trip to the park. J.P. loved throwing the basketball down the tube slide to Nick. You know you are a parent when just the excitement of your children makes your birthday special.
The best present I received was from Carson. He has been sleeping until 5-5:30am all week. That's after getting him to sleep around 10pm or so. He is doing so much better sleeping in his crib now and barely makes a sound during the night. He is also smiling a lot more and interacting with us. Nick painted his nursery last weekend and we are finally getting it complete with decorations. Funny how I had J.P.'s nursery done before I was 7 months pregnant but this one took a little longer.
J.P. has been going potty a lot this week. When I put his underwear on he told me his pants were falling off. His two lower molars came in recently so we are on our way to a full mouth of teeth. I think that is why he has had such an appetite lately.
