Nick and I made it back safely from our Texas trip. It was a little bumpy flying home with storms in the area on Monday and Osama Bin Laden being killed the night before. Security was tight and I missed one of my connecting flights so that accounted for 3 extra hours in the Dallas airport. San Antonio is an awesome place to vacation. The RiverWalk in Downtown is so beautiful and the perfect adult destination. It is the kind of place that you want to take pictures with your eyes the entire time because it's like nothing we experience here in the Midwest. It was so fun to have 5 days of kid-free meals to talk, eat as slow as we wanted, and order some yummy margaritas. We even got to spend some time on the rooftop pool as the temps were in the low 90's. Of course, we visited the Alamo and got to see a lot of Nick's coworkers that we reconnect with every Spring. Gene and Shelley Tyler, one of Nick's very first big clients from Texas are pictured below eating on the RiverWalk.

We had a great Easter and the kids will never be able to eat all the candy they received. They were spoiled with lots of baskets from our family and even a few new monster trucks to play with. They are obsessed with monster trucks right now. Here's a blast from the past, the Easter Bunny even found Garbage Pail Kids for J.P. Remember those??? We spent the morning at Grandma and Grandpa Bauleke's playing with all my cousins and getting really dirty. It was interesting trying to have an egg hunt with 14 grandkids in my parent's yard. We tried labeling the eggs but half the kiddos can't even read. Then we headed to Great-Grandma Connie's for another hunt. Except she laid out real hardboiled eggs and the kids didn't know what to think of that. After one bite, J.P. quickly decided he wasn't interested. Then to Grandpa and Grandma Kuchenbecker's for a money hunt. The kids totaled at least $20 a piece (mostly ones and quarters) and were quick to spend it at Target when we returned home. But J.P. did comment that he wishes people would just give him fours and fives instead. Always thinking of the next big thing to profit on!
