There's a chill in the air....

We knew we were going to have payback for that wonderful month of 70's and sun, but this is ridiculous. 60 mph winds for two days and straight throught the night. I couldn't sleep at all from the noise, then J.P. crawled into our bed, then I finally got the earplugs out and went to sleep at 3am. Plus, our Halloween decorations are getting ruined. Nick dug up a plot of grass in our front yard to make a graveyard but our tombstone blew away. We also have a skeleton half-buried and I find Carson giving the plastic hand a high-five when we're outside.

The kids and I were sick for the last half of the week and all last weekend. The had colds but I had the flu. Aches, sniffles, coughing, low temp, and a super sore throat. I tried not talking to let my throat heal but that is impossible. I sat at the MinuteClinic for 2 hours but no strep, so just viral.

Last weekend we had a fun night watching a scary movie outside on the front lawn. The neighbors and the Bauleke boys came by and we enjoyed some popcorn too. Saturday was J.P.'s first day of basketball and Nick is the coach. All went well but J.P. got a few injuries to complain about. We had some friends over for a chili cookoff and karoke party in our garage Saturday night. Our neighbor, Ross, won with his white chicken chili. It was fun to have one last outdoor party and everyone enjoyed the karoke. It was already a late night and then the thunderstorm kept us up even later. What is up with our weather?????

This week we've already worn our costumes a few times, to a MOMS Club party and gymnastics, so I think Halloween will go well. Carson is going to be Pable from the Backyardigans on Nickelodeon. J.P. is excited about being Spiderman and wearing his mask. Nick's Grandma Virginia is now out of the hospital and at Lakeshore Nursing Home in Waseca. They decided her joint pain was from a severe case of Gout and then she got Shingles on top of that. Ouch! Her Leukemia is also acting up now that she's been on different meds and in a hospital bed for 2 weeks. Say a prayer that she makes a speedy recovery.
