.................................................J.P., Carson, and Daries (1-yr old)

We have really kept busy and were on-the-go more than ever this holiday season. J.P. loves going to look at X-Mas lights and gets to turn them on at our house in the evenings. He also enjoyed making a gingerbread house with me last week, while eating many of the gumdrops. His Christmas fever has continued with watching many Christmas movies with Dad, including his favorite Elf (with Will Ferrell). On Sunday he tried to sing in his Sunday School concert at church but was distracted by the bell on his wrist and the glue remnants from his craft project on his hands. Needless to say, he stood still and did a few actions (see video below). We went downtown Mpls. to see the Macy's Elf exhibit with cousins Daries and he got to play in the arcade at GameWorks with Grandpa Al.

Both kids were sick last week so are now going to be medicated and healthy for the holidays. J.P. came down with mild pneumonia in his chest and Carson has an ear infection. Ugh! We had a busy weekend though so we kept truckin'. Friday night the Zika and Miller family brought their boys over for our annual Christmas party. The older boys (Sean, Landon, and J.P.) played in the jumper and enjoyed our gift exchange. Saturday we had Oliver's baptism and all the family gathered at Brigette's house for cocktails and appetizers. Again, more jumping in the bouncer and another present. J.P. is thinkin' this Christmas thing is awesome since he knows there is much more to come at the end of the week!

Carson is still into everything, see pics above for reference. He never stops attempting to climb the chairs, go into my bathroom supplies, open and close the closet doors, touch the computer, play in the toilet, going to visit Nick's office while he works, I could go on and on...... It is actually easier to take him out of the house because then he is better behaved. He loves ECFE class with all the other 1 year olds and is even learning to sing the songs and do sign-language. He is speaking a lot more this month and has learned to say Elmo, Santa, Ho-ho-ho, Ah-Oh, Quack, cracker, truck, all the basics. His favorites included watching Sesame Street, dragging my hair dryer all over the house, cuddling with his blankie, and pulling all the DVDs off the shelf.

J.P. is starting to learn how to write his name at school. He enjoys bringing something for Show & Tell every week and has a holiday concert tomorrow for the family to attend. He has Jingle Bells down pat by now. He and Daddy are busy riding the snowmobile and shoveling our driveway. They also got to go to Monster Truck Jam at the Metrodome which was a big highlight. We also traveled to Waseca in early December to see the big holiday train stop in town. The railroad company had X-Mas lights all over the train and a band played Christmas music one of the cars. It was freezing cold but still a good time for our little train lover.

Our nephew Daries was baptized this month and Nick was his godfather. He is now one and is a big kid so him and Carson will have a good time as they grow up together. He tags along on a lot of our adventures with Grandpa and Grandma Kuchenbecker. Carson loves his curly hair and glasses. Also, a note about my aunt that had a stroke this summer. She is home now with my Uncle Jim and doing lots of therapy. She uses a cane to walk still but continues to improve with her speech.

Best wishes for a happy and blessed holiday!
