We have a had blast so far in July. The weekend of the 4th we just stayed home and did fun family stuff all weekend. J.P. was in a kiddie parade around the neighborhood. Most rode their Dad's lawnmowers or trailers, but J.P. was the lone bike rider. He rode almost a mile with his training wheels and a fully decorated bike. We put crepe paper, pinwheels, flags, and even some cans strung behind. Nick thought he looked like Dennis the Menace. We ended the night with a BBQ, fun in a big jumper, and fireworks with Camryn & Caitlyn. He was up until 10:45pm and did well. Carson made it until 9:30pm. We also went swimming with Henry at SandVenture Waterpark in Shakopee and J.P. loved time with his two best buddies (Daddy and Henry).
Last weekend we had a party Friday celebrating Nick and J.P.'s birthdays. All our family was here and J.P. had a great time with his aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents. Lots of good food, a big cake, and PRESENTS. This kid is so spoiled with love and gifts. He was thrilled to see many things he asked for including a huge squirt gun, golf clubs, monster trucks, fishing pole, bow & arrow, and lots more.... Many of the items are potential weapons for Carson so we have to be careful when he is running wild in the backyard.
Saturday we went to the zoo with G&G Bauleke, George, Henry, and Mallory. Then it was more swimming at SandVenture and trying to build a sandcastle. After much preparation, Sunday was the big kid party. 15 of his friends came over for a Baseball Party in the backyard. Nick mowed and painted a baseball diamond in the yard and I made ad signs and a scoreboard to add to the effect. We had all kinds of summer treats including hot dogs, lemonade, popcorn, watermelon, and even cracker jacks. Lots more presents including a Nerf gun, lots of CARS toys, construction hat, books, sidewalk paint, and some Thomas Trains. He was estactic and has been playing with everything since.
I can't believe he is already three years old. They all said it would go fast but I feel like it was yesterday. He is such a good kid and brings us so many smiles everyday. At the end of the day what I love most is that he is healthy, sleeps well, is surrounded by lots of loving family, and has so many friends to have fun with. I laugh every day because when I am loading the laundry into the washing machine I can always tell what kind of Freezie he had by looking at the stains on his shirt. Simple thing but it makes my day.
