J.P.'s new big boy bike
J.P. and Landon

Playing with George and the Wielinski boys
Carson and Charlie Wielinski
It's been a while since I've blogged but we were very busy during the last half of May. J.P. and I got to go see Dora the Explorer Live in Downtown Mpls. It was fun to have some alone time with him and him was truly engaged, especially when Diego made a surprise appearance. Cousin George also came for another visit and we got to enjoy the hot weather with some time in the pool. Speaking of outside, J.P. attempted to camp outside last weekend with Daddy and Henry but only made it until 12:15am. Then I was awoken from a dead sleep by J.P. crying in my bed, Nick hauling Henry inside and then camping out on our floor. Either way, J.P. thought it was fun when we reminisced the next day. We now have a golf cart (thanks G&G Kuchenbecker) so J.P. likes to take rides to a little pond by our house and throw rocks. It's crazy how much little boys love throwing rocks into water. Plus, he is on an insect hunt lately and craves finding bugs, butterflies, catepillars, and snakes. We did try to raise some crickets in a bug house in our garage. I bought them at the pet store after I determined a pet frog was way too high maintenance. None of them survived but J.P. thought it was cool for a week. He is also riding his first real big boy bike now. He jumped right on and sped down the sidewalk.

Carson is busy crawling all over so we got out the baby gates. He is very proficient and loves to join all J.P.'s activities. J.P. struggles to dodge him but eventually surrenders a car or two. J.P. is really getting more affectionate with Carson and actually likes playing with him. This is a different story compared to the first 9 months of Carson's life. But Carson truly looks up to him and loves being around him. With all the crawling and standing comes lots of bumps and bruises for Carson. We even had to get our first bandaid for him yesterday. He can stand on his own for 30 seconds or so.

Thanks to our new trusty babysitter, Nick and I had a date night last Friday with some friends. It was so nice to have a fancy dinner and drinks with adult conversation and no one pulling your hair. With Nick traveling a lot in May, we really needed a night out. Then it was off to Waseca for some cousins grad parties and got to ride Granny and Dave's motorcyle.
