J.P. is doing well too. He is the oldest (and by far the tallest) kid in his class. He likes having time to play at home still but get school interaction at the same time. I thought I was done worrying about whether or not we should have put him in a full day program, but I still find myself wondering if we made the right choice. I guess that's life as a parent, always doubting if you made the perfect decision (if there is such a thing). He is loving eating lunch in the cafeteria though. He tells me about seeing his neighbors and older friends in the lunch line and in the hallways. He loves that he can wave at them and they say "hi" back. He started flag football a few weeks ago and is really enjoying the chaos of that. Nothing like 14 young boys running around like crazy, chasing eachother for an hour.
Nick is finally done traveling so much for work. His last trip was to Vegas for 3 days and he ended up being coaxed into riding the power tower on top of the Stratosphere 2 TIMES! No thanks. I've been up there on the roller coaster and that was not something I will ever repeat. He is busy souping up the golf cart with a padded bench. He wants to be able to fit 3 passengers across the back. This weekend he was also ripping the carpet out of our master bath to make room for tile this week. I couldn't stand the feeling of damp carpet anymore. Plus, I would have to vacuum twice a day to keep that carpet hair free. Yuk!
He and J.P. built a graveyard in the front of the house. They are both so into decorating for the holidays. J.P. just gets giddy when he sees me get the holiday bins out. One of my boys favorite activities is to go to all the local stores and look at the seasonal decor. They start screaming as soon as they see the yard decorations and especially love the ones that talk or move. Nick took the boys out to the tree fort this weekend and roasted smores, just like on the movie "Sandlot". They were very impressed Daddy could make this happen. We even told spooky stories and read a book by lantern's light. I caught this moment when Nick set his beer down by Carson on camera.
