What a long week it has been. Nick was traveling on a business trip and so the kids and I were already having a long week. Then J.P. came down with pink eye Tuesday evening. Took him in and got some eye drops from the doctor. Then Wednesday Daddy arrived home and I thought all was good. J.P. was up all night Wednesday with a harsh cough and then developed a high fever. Back to the doctor on Thursday monring and the strep and influenza tests came back negative. So we continued with fever reducers but he kept getting worse. His temp would not come down from 102 and he was so tired. The coughing just made things more uncomfortable for him and sleeping sucked. Friday when he woke from nap his temp had climbed to 104.7 and he was so lethargic. I got him in the car to take him to the doctor and he couldn't even keep his head up in his carseat. He was almost unresponsive so I drove right to Fairview Ridges ER. Then have a nice ER just for children and then got us in quickly. This time the Influenza test came back positive, even though he'd had a flu shot in September. The staff gave us a bunch of popsicles and nebulized him with albuterol. Soon enough he was a little better and just wanted to go home. They put him on Tamiflu. It was so hard to watch and even harder when they put that hospital gown on him and lay him on the big hospital bed.
His temp stayed at 102-103 for almost 70 hours straight. Ugh! We had him sequestered in his room and brought a TV up for him. We were so concerned about Carson that we didn't want them even talking. We also put Carson on Tamiflu just to be safe. Today he finally went back to school and just has a small lingering cough. What's worse is that we put our house on the market in the middle of all of this. We had to turn away a few showings the right away, but now we've had 5 scheduled since then. Hopefully, this is a good sign. We are sad to leave our home on Hackberry Lane, but really want to get more acreage and a better lot. Our poor kids don't even know what a squirrel looks like in real life. We want to stay in Shakopee though because we love all our friends and this area.
For Sale!
I had to laugh at the sound of Carson using the bathroom on his own today. I heard the bang of the lid and then came the sound of him peeing and then the flush. Music to my ears! It took all my constraint to not go help him or prevent a big mess, but he managed to keep the bathroom clean. It was so cute to hear "I did it Mom!" Hopefully this is the beginning of the end for pull-ups (except maybe in the car and to public places for a little while).

Brooke-that is so scary! I'm glad to hear that JP is feeling better and Carson didn't get the same junk. Just one more of the many reasons Spring cannot come soon enough!
