I can't believe how much snow we've gotten in the last month. My husband was up all night waiting for the first flakes to fall. Deep down, I think he loves plowing, but also loves riding his snowmobile. He is out with Uncle Ryan and Nick Arnold right now. I think we got at least 15 inches and it is really blowing. We had to go rescue our inflatable Santa in the front yard three different times today. The kids are a little stir-crazy since being homebound for 2 days now. We are usually so busy and run errands on the weekends. We have watched lots of X-Mas movies, made cookies, and read stories. Now Carson is tucking his Cabbage Patch kids in and giving them kisses. So cute!

Last weekend we enjoyed the tree lighting and Santa's arrival in Downtown Shakopee. It was so beautiful because the snow was falling so light and fluffy. The kids love to explore all the local business because they decorate their windows for the holidays. Nick loves it too because he turns into a jolly-old elf this time of year. Saturday we went to Ichiban's with G&G Kuchenbecker to celebrate their 33rd wedding anniversary. J.P. was hesitant about the flames and chopping. Then we headed to shop around at Macy's and watch the Holidazzle parade. It was so fun to be Downtown for this event, especially with all the snow. When you don't work down there every day it is so much more enjoyable to spend free time there.
...Unfortunately, Carson got the stomach flu that night during his sleep so we were up a lot. I think we changed sheets 4 times and I did two loads of laundry in the middle of the night. Then J.P. threw up at Sunday School choir practice and they had to fetch me out of chuch to help him. Ugh!! but it was a short stint of puking, plus Nick and I avoided it. I still had all my furniture covered for 2 days just in case they spewed again.
...On Wednesday we visited Nick's Grandma Ruedy in Waseca. She is now in hospice care at the nursing home and isn't expected to be here with us much longer. It was hard to know you might be seeing her for the last time and finding a way to express yourself. But she is being comforted by Nick's Mom and her 3 brothers right now, plus lots of friends are stopping by. Please keep her and Nick's family in your prayers.
